She’s most definitely not normal
Miya Bang
Miya lives down under and will skip the Mondays whenever possible. She has never met a craft she couldn’t pick up, and has multiple stashes to prove it. Her other hobbies are philosophy, eating cuisine from around the globe, and karaoke.
On a rough day, the validation of Permission to Dance can make her cry. In fact, she’s probably self-medicating with K-pop right now.
She loves her sweet orange kitty and her BFF, Nova.
Why Do You Write?
Writing romance is my act of resistance against the patriarchy.
Because romance is frequently by women for women, society treats it as something ‘frivolous’ and of ‘no substantive benefit’, even though love and sex and the survival of the species are inextricably linked back through millennia.
It’s important to me to feature women who challenge traditional femininity – who reject societal expectations in ways that feel authentic and relatable.
The stories that we tell each other serve as reminders that there should be a limit on the bad behaviour we accept from the men in our lives, and that women and femme people have a strength of endurance that can’t be matched.
When you light a candle, you also cast a shadow.
